Members of this career community have a wide range of career interests that include the promotion of health, caring for the ill, addressing public safety and health concerns, as well as working with domesticated animals and their owners as a practitioner of veterinary medicine.  This community includes information for students who are on pre-health tracks including pre-med, pre-vet and other pre-professional tracks in healthcare.

Special Programs and Partnerships

HP3, a program designed and implemented by the Knowlton Center, allows you to easily match with a Licking Memorial Hospital physician. Participation involves a preparatory orientation and the amazing opportunity for a day-long observation with a physician. Certain you want to pursue healthcare? Just exploring the options? Either way, this program is for you!  The Spring 2025 application opens on January 21st.

Want to interact with local healthcare professionals in both an academic and clinical space? Interested in working with patients in the local community? Now is your chance! This program is provided in partnership with Licking Memorial Hospital and Denison’s Knowlton Center for Career Exploration. Participation will involve enrollment in an experiential learning course for both Fall and Spring semesters. The application for 2025-2026 is now open. Learn more.

Granville EMT Internship

The GTFD Denison Internship Program will include training and on the job experiences as an EMT in the summer. Applications for Summer 2025 are open NOW: https://denison.joinhandshake.com/jobs/9514010/share_preview

University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Screening Program

The internship is designed for rising junior and rising senior undergraduate students who are seriously considering a career in medicine or bioscience. Interns will be involved in the digitization of sonography results, audits, participant follow-up,and data analysis. The interns will be working adjacent to the Gynecologic Oncology Clinic and will have interactions with screening personnel, and the medical staff at weekly patient care conferences. Dr. Anne Taylor Shadowing Experience

So You Want To Be A Doctor?
During the summer break you will have the opportunity to do a one-week shadow with a physician alum from Denison. Dr. Anne Taylor is a board-certified plastic surgeon. During this time, you will have exposure to patient care in a clinic, hospital, or a setting spanning multiple different medical conditions and procedures.
