Meet our Student Staff

Hi, my name is Disha and I am from Chennai, India. I am a sophomore majoring in Psychology and Communication. I am also the PR Chair for the Denison International Student Association (DISA). In my free time, I enjoy reading (and re-reading), going for walks and video-calling with my family back home!

My name is Paul Strom, and I’m from Minneapolis, MN, studying Economics & Global Commerce with a minor in Spanish. I spent this past summer interning in the Internal Audit department at Nationwide and am looking to go into consulting in the future. In addition to working in the Knowlton Center, I also work in admissions, the global commerce department, and the Red Frame Lab.

I am a pre-medicine biochemistry major from San Antonio, Texas! I am a first-generation student and am currently one of the co-presidents of Denison’s First Generation Network. I also am a co-president of Denison Medical Volunteers. I work as a volunteer EMT at Granville Fire and love emergency medicine. I love horses and am involved in the equestrian team on campus where we have lessons weekly and compete in shows. I am obsessed with crime podcasts, specifically CrimeJunkie, and reading. A fun fact about me is that my twin brother and I are dual citizens.

I am from Raleigh, North Carolina. My major is Psychology with a Chemistry minor and I want to pursue a career in medicine. On campus, I am a varsity lacrosse goalie, student athletic trainer, biochemistry research assistant, additionally a member of Diversity Inclusion Club and Premed Association. Outside of school, I enjoy paddle boarding, pickle-ball, and cooking.

My name is Morgan Gilmore. I am a rising senior, and I play golf for Denison. I am from Denver, CO. I keep myself busy with involvement in the Pre-Med Association as their president, Big Brother Big Sister, Alpha Epsilon Delta, medical volunteers, and Mission 34. I love animals, and I have five dogs!

I’m a Data Analytics major with a Psychology domain, from Columbia, MD. I’m also on Denison’s club Ultimate Frisbee team! I just wrapped up a summer as an IBM intern, and I’m really excited to see what opportunities are out there in the professional data science world and potentially attend some conferences to learn more about what different career paths are open to me. My dream job would be something in analytics for theme parks – I think they’re really cool and I love roller coasters.

Hey there, I’m Ethan!

I come from the bustling city of New York, where I was born and raised in a close-knit West Indian household with my parents and sister. Growing up, my father always emphasized the value of hard work and giving my best in everything I do, a principle that has stuck with me through every aspect of my life.

I pursued my passion for technology and problem-solving at Denison University, majoring in Computer Science. I’ve always been fascinated by the potential of software engineering to make a positive impact on society, and my ultimate goal is to create or contribute to an application that betters the world. Steve Jobs’ famous quote, “The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do,” truly resonates with me and serves as my guiding mantra. After graduation, I will be joining Walmart as a Software Engineer at their headquarters in Arkansas.

On campus, I’ve been actively involved in various activities. I’ve taken on leadership roles, finding joy in motivating and inspiring others to achieve their best. Besides academics, I also enjoy exploring diverse subjects and continuously learning to improve myself in every way.

If I were to describe my superpower, it would be my ability to tackle tasks efficiently while maintaining a passion for continuous learning. This drive to constantly improve applies to every aspect of my life, whether it’s mastering new programming languages, embracing new challenges, or simply enjoying life’s adventures.

My name is Courtney Simmons. My hometown is Chicago and I am a Studio Art Major with a minor in Education. Durning my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends at Slivy’s and spending time in nature. As for my career interests, I am still undecided. A few careers that peak my interests are teaching art, children’s illustration, and art therapy. One fun fact about me is that I have gotten good at simple nail art and gel extensions.

Hey, I’m Ryan Dawson from Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m a Computer Science student at Denison University, set to graduate in May 2025. On campus, I’m immersed in coding with languages like C/C++, Python, Java, and more. I’ve even had the incredible opportunity to intern at NASA, where I contributed to a groundbreaking robotic mission to explore Ceres. My knack for collaboration shines through projects with Bloomberg, creating a web-based portfolio app and an Intelligent Satellite Data Analysis system using Python and machine learning. Currently, I’m an intern at Kroger – 84.51°, enhancing software systems. Beyond code I’m excited to see where my tech journey takes me!

I am from North Andover, Massachusetts. I am on the Varsity Fencing team, and I am a Biology major and English literature minor.
