It is an important, emerging topic for anyone involved in business development, operations, or analytics to understand. This course introduces the concepts related to edge analytics, and explains how edge analytics fit alongside big data, traditional data warehousing, and other analytical environments. Instructor Alan Simon demonstrates sample architectures and core technologies such as intelligent digital video and sensor-produced data. He also reviews specific solutions from Intel, Cisco, and other vendors, and shows how edge analytics can be applied in four different use cases: retail, manufacturing, IT security and systems management, and energy exploration.
