MISSION
The purpose of this organization shall be: to create a sense of community among women Math and Computer Science majors and minors.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
- Meet and connect with other female-identifying Computer Science and Math majors, minors, and faculty at Denison.
- Get peer assistance from upperclassmen majors/minors within the CS and Math departments.
GOALS
The goal of WIMCS is to create a supportive network of personal and professional connections among female-identifying students in Math and Computer Science on campus. We aim to connect students with professors and other professionals in the field to share ideas, resources and socialize. We try to make the transition to college-level Math/CS courses as easy as possible by partnering freshmen with upperclassmen in the club who act as peer mentors. They give advice on classes, professors, campus resources, jobs/internships experience
and help introduce them to others in the department.
