What you’ll do
The GS Business Analytics team is driving advances in data science, analysis, and engineering at Viasat and looking for a data engineering intern who demonstrates curiosity, adaptability, and enjoys solving tough engineering problems. The team works with customers and stakeholders to help drive business value by building applications utilizing our data and machine learning platforms. This task is an exciting challenge for building solutions starting with research and development following all the way through to engineering and deploying projects into production.
We encourage learning through osmosis, ensuring no one is confined to their specific area of work. Similarly, we value ability and willingness to learn, over experience in a particular area. This isn’t to say we don’t value expertise and mastery of a subject, rather we recognize the need for evolution of knowledge in our rapidly changing field.
For your internship, you will be implementing data correction and data validation workflows for mission-critical data that is used for analytics and real-time insights for our GS business customers. You will learn about our data infrastructure and existing data pipelines and implement against specific requirements. Your work will allow us to correct bad data, and verify and alert on data integrity and consistency across multiple data sources. You will contribute directly to improved confidence in our data and help us as we start to integrate data platforms across the Viasat data landscape.
