Positions may be eligible for remote/telework.
In this job, you would become a member of GPO’s Customer Services Division, which operates a highly successful Print Procurement Program. As a member of our team, you will be taught technical information about industrial printing techniques (offset, gravure, flexography, engraving, etc.) that are used to produce and publish books and other printed materials at high volume and with high quality. You will learn how to create and administer contracts that GPO uses to procure printed products and services for Federal Agencies from printing industry suppliers who bid competitively to obtain this work. Your time will be spent consulting with customers and advising them about their needs, writing contract specifications to describe their requirements, evaluating the capabilities of interested print vendors, and handling administrative tasks during the entire contract lifecycle of solicitation, production, delivery, and billing. Daily work is interesting and varied. You will spend the majority of your time communicating in meetings, preparing written documents, and learning how to apply the regulations that GPO must follow to operate highly successful procurement program. Candidates selected by Customer Services are allowed to telework full-time from any location (remotely) as long as they are able to travel to Washington, DC for 3-5 days of mandatory training once per quarter (4x per year during the program). The job announcement says remote work is not allowed. However, it is part of GPO’s Telework Policy and is a benefit that we can offer to candidates who are able to work successfully that way.
Resumes for Federal jobs require more details than private sector resumes. Please ensure you read the job announcement carefully and include all the information requested on your resume.
