Program Overview
The 2025 Starr Global Associate Program is a 12 month training program designed to attract, develop and retain high potential college graduates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Starr Associate will be assigned to the aviation claims team and will undergo a 12 month program designed to obtain on-the-job training and foundational knowledge needed to adjust insurance claims for various types of matters specific to the aviation industry
- Must be willing and able to obtain appropriate insurance licensing (varies by state but may consist of pre-licensing coursework and an exam)
- Will be responsible for assisting in-house adjusting staff with the set-up, investigation, documentation, and resolution of aircraft hull and liability claims
- Will provide support to underwriting team and other internal departments on an as-needed basis, as well as external contacts such as brokers and clients
- Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications:
- Rising college senior who is enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program within an aviation related course of study. Recent graduates (within the last 24 months) will also be considered.
- Pilot’s license and/or A&P license preferred
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA or Scottsdale, AZ
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in writing)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Additional Job Duties:
Study and obtain the AINS (Associate in General Insurance) designation
Group project with other Associates on a subject involving emerging technologies, internal initiatives or process improvement programs
Home office visits to receive hands-on, comprehensive training and attend social events to promote team-building and camaraderie (senior management discussions, site visits and organization overviews)
Learn the principles of claims, credit, actuary, compliance and reinsurance
