Job Description:
The graduate assistant for the Women’s Center and Pride Center will support the mission and vision of the Centers through programming, advocacy and outreach. This position will also provide support for the entirety of the Office for Inclusive Excellence, including campus-wide diversity programming, student transitions, and the Veteran’s Center.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Women’s Center and Pride Center
· Assist with the development, implementation, and assessment of educational programs and events related to gender and sexuality
· Assist with the training and supervision of student employees
· Plan and facilitate regular staff meetings with student employees
· Collaborate with other SRU stakeholders to provide activities, programs and resources for and about gender and sexuality
· Manage, maintain, and update vast resource libraries in each center
· Assist in managing all social media platforms for Women’s Center and Pride Center, Including CORE
· Maintain databases for assessment
· Assist with student recruitment and retention efforts through various OIE programs
· Facilitate FYRST seminars and Bus visit presentation
· Assist with signature office programs
· Provide academic & social support
Supervise limited number of JumpStart peer mentors
· Meet 1:1 with each assigned mentor bi-weekly
· Provide academic and social support to mentors
· Advise mentors in their mentoring of first year students
· Provide necessary resource information to mentors and mentees when needed
· Complete GA/Mentor reports bi-weekly
· Approve mentor/ mentee forms weekly
· Communicate with professional staff regarding JumpStart students of concern, and report students to the Office of Student Support and offer resources as appropriate

· Position is part of the Office for Inclusive Excellence and as such will include other duties necessary to ensure the success of major events sponsored by the office including, but not limited to, Jumpstart week, 9/11 Memorial, Veteran’s Day, Professional Development Events, Transition Series Events, Multicultural Events
