Job Summary:
The Center for Global Programs is home to Off-Campus Study, International Student Support, and Multilingual Learning. The Intern position is designed for current Global Ambassadors to develop professional skills in a university office setting.
Responsibilities:
Office Administration:
- Greet and direct visitors to appropriate professional staff for queries
- Handle day-to-day office tasks, including but not limited to checking and distributing mail, picking up collateral from the copy center, keeping the office coffee stations filled and clutter free, etc.
- Support office operations and provide assistance to CfGP staff as needed
Student Support:
- Provide assistance to office staff who support students with off-campus study inquiries
- Provide assistance to office staff who support international students with immigration-related matters, including OPT/CPT applications, taxes, social security trips that require a driver, etc.
- Act as a resource for students seeking information about global programs, study abroad opportunities, and the Multilingual Learning Office
- Take and print passport and OPT photos
- Monitor and assist with general social media content as needed under the direction of Center staff
Event Coordination:
- Assist in planning and coordinating CfGP events, including the Fall Fair, Leap around the Globe, OPT informational sessions, International Friendship Program events, and Global Living Community events, among others
- Assistance with hanging flyers, set-up, logistics, and post-event evaluations
Other duties as assigned by the Center for Global Programs
Qualifications:
Must be reliable, self-motivated, detail oriented, and possess a strong understanding of all parts of the Center for Global Programs. Successful candidates should have the ability to engage students and staff with enthusiasm and exercise maturity, professionalism, discretion, and confidence.
We will hire 3-4 students. Preference may be given to students who have passed the Denison defensive driving course.
Interns should be available an average of 4-6 hours per week from 11:00AM – 1:00PM and 2:00PM – 4:00PM. Additional hours may be available for specific events outside the parameters of this general work schedule.
