Purpose:
At Azusa Pacific University, we believe in the transformative power of human stories. A story can move, empower, teach, humble, and inspire both individuals and communities. The Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement visual storytelling team is tasked with capturing the narratives of various alumni, current students, staff, and faculty on film (visit youtube.com/azusapacific for examples). We are hiring 1 undergraduate student employee to join us in Summer 2024 for 10 hours a week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the visual storytelling team in the planning, production, and post-production of a variety of video projects (with an emphasis on post-production)
- Create videos tailored to various social media platforms
- Take the lead on a new series of short, motion graphic videos
- Identify film-related skill areas where growth is desired and complete various learning tasks under the guidance of the visual storytelling team
Qualifications:
- At least one year of cinema/media arts education or equivalent experience
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
- Passionate about the filmmaking process, especially post-production and motion graphics
- Organized, intentional, and an eye for details
- Teachable and eager to learn
Physical, Mental, and Visual Demands
- Requires repetitive motions at the computer keyboard
- Requires significant time spent in front of a computer monitor
- Must be able to lift more than 20 pounds
