Overview
An information security intern is requested to assist with the implementation of security initiatives. An internship is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate studying cybersecurity, computer science, MIS, or another technical field. The information security team plans to continue make updates and improvements to the security program. The intern will assist with some operational tasks and assist with one or more security projects.
Job Description
The intern will work under the direction of the Senior Manager IT Security and assist with security operations and security projects. The IT Security team will design and implement the processes and controls to protect the assets. The intern will follow the established processes to assist with security monitoring. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing logs, reports, and alerts from firewall, end point protection, patching, vulnerability management, and security monitoring. The intern will escalate issues as necessary and work with the IT Security team to address the issues.
In addition, the intern will be assigned an independent, security-related project. This will be a non-critical project. However, the final deliverable of the project will be designed to provide actual value to the organization. The exact nature of the project will be determined based on current needs when the intern starts.
