Position Overview
As a Jr. Data Engineering Analyst, you will work with the Magnetar Labs team in its efforts to make data, both public and proprietary, more accessible, user friendly and transparency to the broader organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the building of data pipelines to fuel research and development and support existing strategies.
- Contribute to a variety of automation efforts across operational and investment functions, including building enhanced workflows and processes.
- Collaborate with Magnetar Labs users to develop models and/or notebooks to run in Magnetar’s platform.
- Assist in the creation of reporting analytics and visualizations to help support day-to-day operations and ad hoc business needs.
Qualifications
- Degree in Financial Engineering, Data Science or Statistics
- GPA of 3.4 or higher
- Proficiency in Python, Pandas and SQL
- General knowledge of development methodologies (source control, continuous integration, etc.)
- High level of intelligence, internal drive, intellectual inquisitiveness, and analytical ability
- Optimistic attitude with willingness to contribute however and wherever possible or required
- Ability to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams toward specific objectives
- Demonstrate ability to deal with high pressure situations, seek out solutions and work with others to resolve problems in a timely and effective manner
- Willing and capable of handling working on multiple projects at once
About the Jr. Analyst Program
Our Jr. Analyst Program is a two-year, full-time opportunity open to final-year undergraduate students to learn about and contribute to the various teams that support our core businesses.
As a participant in the Jr. Analyst Program, you will be given the support to grow your career and gain a comprehensive understanding of the alternative asset management industry. Our program offers extensive professional training to develop key areas of communication, problem solving, and analytical skills, and features a robust performance management process to support talent development. You will be expected to complete a capstone project and participate in a cohort among your peers, which will focus on Development, Mentorship and Engagement opportunities.
