Peer Coach Spotlight: Keryane Adje-Akosah ’24

Hello, I’m Keryane Adje-Akosah, a senior from Boston, Massachusetts. I am currently pursuing a degree in Communication with a minor in Educational Studies here at Denison University. On campus, I’m actively involved with NPHC, BSU, Mitchell Athletic Center, Sisters In Dialogue, and a proud member of The Impekkable Pi Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. As an extension of the Knowlton Center, I am excited to contribute my skills and experiences as a valuable resource for assistance and guidance. Fun fact: I am a very proud Ghanaian!

Reflecting on my own career exploration experience, I strongly encourage all those who are unsure about your career paths to stay open minded! The beauty of a liberal arts school is to dip your feet in a few things to figure out what works for you and what does not. During my time at Denison I knew the end goal was to graduate and live a happy and successful life. Success in itself is measured differently across the board, but for me, success is working to live, not living to work. I changed my major six different times within the span of freshman-sophomore year until I participated an internship via SOTC. Through this internship, I learned that I enjoy managing projects from start to finish, and enjoy wearing my creative cap. I then committed to being a Communication major, and made it a point to build on the skills a gained from one internship to another.

All in all, I strongly advice students to take advantage of the resources available at the Knowlton Center, and build your network in order to gain exposure and new experiences in different fields. I am more than happy to chat with anyone about their career exploration journey!
