Sara’s Picks: Internship edition! Week of 11/1

Every week, Sara’s Picks bring you highlighted jobs, internships, and events that we want to draw extra attention to for students in the Healthcare and Clinical Research community. Check out this week’s spotlights below!

Internships:

  • Columbia University’s Summer Public Health Scholars Program:
    This program has it all: hands-on field experience, seminars and lectures with public health leaders, and mentoring by faculty members, ensuring students’ exposure to the breadth and importance of public health as a career option. Open to rising Juniors and Seniors!
  • The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP)
    Another broad program focused on preparing Freshman and Sophomore underrepresented students for healthcare careers through academic enrichment, mentorship, a health policy seminar, and clinical exposure through small-group rotations in health care settings.
  • Johns Hopkins University Summer Internship Program
    The Summer Internship Program (SIP) provides experience in biomedical and public health research to students from a variety of backgrounds – including students from racial/ethnic groups underrepresented in science and medicine, students from low-income/underserved backgrounds, and students with disabilities. The program provides research exposure for those interested in potential careers in science, medicine and public health.
  • The College Summer Internship Program at Magee-Womens Research Institute
    The Institute includes basic, translational, and clinical faculty researchers from the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences as well as from other departments at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Sample topics include women’s cancers, infectious disease, pregnancy, and women’s health.
  • Medical College of Wisconsin Student-centered Program to Advance Research in Cancer Careers (SPARCC) Internship
    SPARCC is an 8-week summer program that combines content knowledge and clinical experiences to focus on cancer care, cultural responsiveness, and research. Must be a rising Junior or Senior to apply!
