The Peace Corps is actively recruiting Denison students for opportunities to work and live abroad after graduation. We have openings in more than 60 countries around the world. Our programs include positions supporting public health, environmental sustainability, and food security, as well as others focused on economic development, English education, and youth initiatives.
Volunteers immerse themselves in the cultures where they live, learning the local languages and building lifelong connections. They receiving a living wage, housing, and full medical+dental coverage during service, as well as a number of benefits afterwards including a $10k readjustment payment, exclusive fellowships for grad school that cover up to 100% of tuition at a variety of universities, and priority access to getting hired for federal jobs.
Kyle Carter is the Peace Corps Recruiter for Ohio. He served as a volunteer in the health sector in El Salvador from 2010-12 and stayed in the country for an additional year afterwards, training and advising new volunteers. Upon returning to the United States, he completed a master’s degree in public administration as a Coverdell Fellow as the University of Colorado Denver. He has worked in a variety of capacities in the federal government since then, including managing large grant programs for the Department of the Interior, among other roles.
Kyle is available as a resource for students who have questions about Peace Corps service or want guidance on crafting a highly competitive application. He will be making periodic visits to campus but is also available for one-on-one meetings virtually. You can reach him by email at kcarter2@peacecorps.gov or text at (216) 545-1414.
