Marketing Strategy for Designers

If graphic designers and marketers don’t communicate effectively, it can result in time lost or work that doesn’t meet the needs of the organization. In this course, Amy Balliett teaches designers some core tenets of marketing, as well as how to manage marketers as clients, interpret marketing goals, and use those goals to inform all design choices. Amy begins by helping you get into a marketing mindset. She explains the role of design in marketing, defines a marketing campaign, and goes over how to speak like a marketer. Then Amy dives into important marketing strategies, including SEO optimization, email marketing, content marketing, and much more. Next, she covers key components of building your marketing campaign, such as SMART goals, a content strategy roadmap, and visual language design. Finally, Amy wraps up with a discussion of how all the previous steps come together, as well as the follow-up process, measuring success, and showing your value.
