How has this internship influenced your career direction?

This internship has given me a look into what a future career as a consultant will realistically look like. I gained perspective about what I liked and did not like about the business world, and learned the unspoken etiquette rules required to be successful. Furthermore, I accepted a return offer for next summer, and I am excited to continue to grow and learn from both the people I met this past summer and those who I will meet next summer!

What advice do you have for future interns?

The first few weeks are going to be scary and hard, but it is suppose to be like that. Focus on what you are assigned, complete it thoroughly and quickly, and network! My favorite part of this summer was working alongside some amazing professionals, and I highly recommend meeting and connecting with as many people as you can. Finally, it is okay to make a mistake, you are not expected to know everything. Take the feedback you are given and make the corrections for the next time around.

Aside from your internship, are there other tools, resources or programs that have supported your career exploration?

Knowlton was a huge help for me! Use all the tools that Denison offers. I also networked a lot through my extracurricular activities.
