Sara’s Picks: Jobs & Internships Week of 9/20

Every week, Sara’s Picks bring you highlighted jobs, internships, and events that we want to draw extra attention to for students in the Healthcare and Clinical Research community. Check out this week’s spotlights below!

Jobs & Fellowships:

  • Licking County Health Department Health Educator: Interested in helping others improve their health as well as working within a system of preventive medicine? This position allows you to explore those interests while making an impact in the Licking County community. Application deadline approaching quickly, apply soon.
  • NIH Bioethics Fellowship: This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in ethical issues in healthcare, from genetics to health policy. This two-year opportunity often leads to publication within the field and can be a launchpad for careers in research or healthcare.

Internships:

  • UCSF Visiting Scholar Internship: Conduct research, observe in the operating room, and work in the clinic! Dr. Diab is a Denison parent. This internship has had rave reviews from previous students, so don’t miss out on the application (due by 5pm on Sept 23rd!).
  • The Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) at the Medical College of Wisconsin: This program is well known as a way to gain high quality research experience on the way to a variety of healthcare or clinical research careers. They provide a generous stipend and living accommodations as well (bonus!). Applications don’t open until October (we are still a bit early for many healthcare internships), so add a reminder on your calendar to circle back to this opportunity!
