Academic Semester Internship Experience

The Academic Semester Internship Experience is offered through the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration and provides students an opportunity to explore career fields and apply academic coursework to the workplace while gaining valuable professional experience and developing career readiness skills in a structured learning environment. 

STIPEND SUPPORT

Academic semester internship stipend support lowers the barrier to engagement in high-impact academic year internships by providing the opportunity for high need students to access funds. Both Fall and Spring Internship Stipends are $1,000*  and will be disbursed to the awarded student’s direct deposit bank account.  All sophomores, juniors, and seniors interning in an UNPAID internship are eligible to apply. 1st year students may be accepted on a case by case basis; please email Kati Bear, beark@denison.edu, if you are a 1st year student who is interested in participating.   *Employer partnership stipends may be different. Requirements to receive a stipend:

• Secure an unpaid Internship
• Ensure the employer is an off-campus entity unaffiliated with Denison
• Complete and submit an online registration prior to the deadline
• Intern a minimum of 100 hours over the course of the semester
• Submit an employer verification letter with all the necessary details

EMPLOYER VERIFICATION LETTER
In order to participate, students must have a secured internship with verification from the employer. The verification should be a letter in PDF format and must include:

• Student’s Name
• Intern Title
• Employer Name
• Confirmation the internship is unpaid (if seeking a stipend)
• Approximate beginning and end dates
• Approximate total hours
